Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Yes our defence was 50 shades of shit yesterday, but our midfield just let Watford stream forward so much in that second half, we were lucky to get away with 4 goals.

Noble has started the season so poorly. Maybe he needs a game or two on the bench.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Noble is a poor premier league player and has been for years, it's above his standard. He maybe a loyal west ham player and fan, thanks but we all want to progress and we can't if he is in our first 11. Unless we want to keep losing to the likes of watford, Swansea, stoke etc. it's not just him who has been shit recently but ur team is only as good as your captain

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
I would say a "definite No". However, felt we were even worse without him and never looked liked getting back into match. That is more worrying.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Thought he was terrible yesterday, but it wasn't a game to pick out individuals, as the entire midfield as a unit didn't help out a defence which itself had a couple of shocking performances in.

For their third goal (I think), our entire midfield had let theirs just wander past them and made no effort to get goal side.

Just one of those games where only a couple of players looked up for it.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
He looks knackered already which is a worry!

I'd keep him in for now only because we are out of Europa and its Saturday to Saturday games to keep him fit/non knackered.

That could be Southamptons undoing this Season

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Their 3rd goal started in their own half. The Watford player just ran through the middle, saw no challenge was coming and kept going.

Psychologically, we were shot at HT. Noble and Kouyaté weren't at the races. What really annoys me is that Bilic didn't do anything to change it until far too late.

Not yet IMO...
Same for Kouyate...
Very weak MF...

Also Reid...Byram...

Excuses for the others who were on international duty ...injured etc...

Top performers so far...Antonio...Arthur...

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Good player, looks unfit and part of a disorganised side. Only Antonio and Arthur looked fit yesterday. You could easily make 9 changes next week and it would be justified.

Noble was no worse than kouyate.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Was very good for the first 20 minutes really setting the tempo with some qell-timed, crunching tackles. Faded very badly though and was anonymous after that.

We got worse after he was injured and had to come off.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
Noble was brilliant last season and has been poor so far this season. Maybe the pressure of being captain and heavily involved in the move has all got too much? He just needs to find his form again.

His picture outside the ground with 'Mr West Ham' written on it doesn't help either. Take that shit down.

Imo we were worse when we conceded 4 goals while he was on the pitch.

The bigger pitch is exposing he's limitations

8 - I thought the same thing, he looks a bit lost out there, no doubt most on here will say it's bollocks though.

Aslo, hasn't he been playing reguarly for over 10 years now? Maybe he's a bit burnt out?

El Scorchio 2:43 Sun Sep 11
Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
My mistake. I thought he'd gone off very close to half time.

Anyway we played better in the first half before he had to go to the side for treatment and then ultimately come off.

The expert on this subject appears to be on a sabbatical.
Unless he is posting under a new name...?

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
No, not at the moment he doesn't. Obiang will probably do the job better over 90 minutes alongside Kouyate. If Bilic organises the formation better.

What worries me about Noble is his clear lack of fitness. Quick and sharp are different things and he's neither. Sadly it's probably time to bench him and Collins for Obiang and Ogbonna.

There's something wrong at West Ham and it's been there since the end of April. The only shining star was the Man Utd game in May and I think it was the sheer effort of the crowd that made that happen.

Was shit yesterday, got robbed leading up to their first goal.

Re: Is Mark Noble justifying his place in the team?
He's been really poor so far and I can't work out whether it's him or the shape of the team which shows him up.
He's still the only one to put a committed tackle in.
